Performance & Features
Why is AWD more important in complex terrains?
In real-world gardens, slopes, wet grass after rain, and uneven surfaces are very common.
Standard 2WD mowers can struggle in these conditions, often losing traction or spinning wheels, which may repeatedly rub the same area and lead to uneven cutting or localized lawn damage.
The AWD system distributes power across all four wheels, allowing the mower to maintain stronger grip and steady forward movement even on challenging terrain. This helps reduce slipping and unnecessary turf stress while ensuring more consistent mowing results.
AWD is not about going faster — it’s about staying stable and protecting your lawn.
What is the difference between AWD and standard lawn mowers?
The main difference is the drive system and real-world stability on challenging terrain.
Standard 2WD mowers typically power only two wheels, which can limit traction on slopes, wet grass, or uneven ground, sometimes leading to slipping or reduced performance.
In contrast, the G7 AWD uses an all-wheel drive system, where all four wheels are powered independently. This provides significantly stronger traction and stability across different terrains.
It can handle steeper slopes (up to 80% /38.7°) and overcome larger obstacles (up to 6cm/2.4 in), delivering more reliable performance on slopes, wet lawns, and complex garden layouts.
In simple terms:
👉 2WD is better for flat lawns
👉 AWD is built for slopes, wet conditions, and complex terrain
Can it work in yards with trees, obstacles, or narrow pathways?
Yes. The mower features smart obstacle avoidance and narrow-path navigation, allowing it to safely operate around common garden objects such as trees, toys, leaf piles, sprinklers, water pipes, and outdoor lighting.
For narrow passages, the system is optimized to handle different widths:
- In areas around 1 m (3.28 ft) wide or less, the mower can usually enter and complete at least one mowing pass. However, it will automatically avoid spaces that are physically too tight with solid barriers on both sides to prevent getting stuck.
- In passages between 0.8–2 m (2.62–6.56 ft), it can navigate more reliably and maintain better coverage with minimal missed areas.
In simple terms, as long as the space is not completely inaccessible, the mower will intelligently decide whether to pass through and continue mowing efficiently.
Can it cover multi-zone or very large yards?
Yes. It is engineered for large-scale yard management, supporting up to 100 multi-zone configurations and covering a maximum working area of approximately 10,000 m² (2.5 acres).I
n addition, the system supports multi-map management, allowing you to create separate maps based on your lawn or property layout (for example, multiple maps with different area sizes depending on your yard structure).
Each map can further be divided into up to 100 zones, enabling more precise and flexible mowing control for complex or segmented properties.
How much lawn can be mowed on a full charge?
Mowing area per full charge under regular maintenance conditions (depending on grass and terrain conditions):
- AWD 3000: up to 1,000 m² (10,764 ft²)
- AWD 5000: up to 1,000 m² (10,764 ft²)
- AWD 10000: up to 2,000 m² (21,528 ft²)
How close can the mower cut against fixed objects such as raised sidewalks or retaining walls?
- For non-crossable fixed obstacles such as raised sidewalks, retaining walls, or solid garden borders, the mower can perform edge cutting within approximately 10–15 cm (3.94–5.91 in).
- For crossable or drivable boundaries, users can map along the edge using the center of the cutting disc as a reference, enabling closer edge cutting and improved coverage with fewer missed strips.
My lawn has slopes. Can this mower handle them?
Yes, absolutely. The G7 mower features an AWD (All-Wheel Drive) system designed specifically for sloped and uneven lawns, providing strong traction and stable performance even on challenging terrain.
It can handle slopes of up to 80% (38.7°) and overcome obstacles up to 60 cm (2.36 in), such as uneven ground, small steps, or rough garden surfaces.
In simple terms, even if your lawn has noticeable slopes or height variations, the mower can move smoothly and operate reliably without manual assistance.
Will this new lawn bot work on high florida st Augustine grass and will it work when it’s wet during rain season?
Yes, it can operate on St. Augustine grass and in wet conditions.
However, operation in rain or on wet grass is not recommended. Wet soil may become soft and unstable, and damp grass can bend and clump, which may affect cutting performance and reduce lawn finish quality. It may also cause grass clippings to stick to the machine, increasing cleaning and maintenance effort.
Can the robot make turns within a narrow confined area of about 5 feet (1.5 m) width?
Yes, absolutely. The robot can smoothly execute turning and maneuvering within narrow confined areas or passages of approximately 5 feet (1.5 m) in width.
Will it slip on wet grass or after rain?
It is designed to minimize slipping. The G7 AWD features professional off-road tires combined with an all-wheel-drive system, providing stronger traction and stability on low-grip surfaces such as wet grass or lawns after rain.
Compared to standard 2WD mowers, it delivers more stable movement on slippery terrain, effectively reducing slipping, stalling, or interruptions, ensuring smooth and consistent operation even in damp conditions.
Can it be used in complex or irregularly shaped yards?
Yes. It is designed for complex and irregular yard layouts, automatically adapting to different lawn shapes and generating efficient mowing paths for full coverage.
Whether your property includes multiple separated zones, narrow passages, or asymmetrical lawn areas, the system can manage them as a unified setup and perform fully automated mowing across all zones.
In simple terms, even if your yard is not a regular rectangle, it can still map, plan, and mow it efficiently.
What are the limitations of the mower?
The G7 robotic mower is designed for standard maintained turf environments, including residential and commercial lawns.
It may not perform optimally in the following conditions:
- Extremely cluttered or unmanaged areas with heavy debris
- Areas with physical passages narrower than the machine width
- Completely disconnected environments for extended periods (safety standby may be triggered)
- Extremely wet, muddy, flooded, or heavily shaded/obstructed areas (e.g., indoor or fully enclosed spaces with no GNSS signal)
For best performance, a clear operational boundary and routine lawn surface maintenance are recommended.
I live in a poor 4G signal area, and my WiFi may not fully cover the mowing zone. Will the robot still function properly in such conditions?
Yes. In areas with weak or unstable WiFi and 4G signals, the robot can continue operating within its mapped area using onboard positioning and boundary detection systems.
- When there is no network connection, the robot can still maintain normal mowing operation for short-distance(around 15 meters) movements while ensuring boundary safety.
- To prevent the risk of leaving the designated mowing area, if the device remains completely disconnected for a prolonged period, or exceeds the safety movement threshold (around 15 meters without signal recovery), it will automatically stop and enter standby mode.
Is it necessary to renew the 4G data service after the initial 3-year free period expires? If yes, what is the cost?
Yes, renewal is required after the initial 3-year free 4G service period ends.
The renewal fee is $29 per year to continue using the 4G data service.
The device also supports WiFi connectivity for daily operation. When the WiFi signal is weak or unstable, it will automatically switch to 4G to ensure a stable and uninterrupted connection.
What is NetRTK?
NetRTK (Network Real-Time Kinematic) is an advanced positioning enhancement technology that significantly improves standard GPS accuracy.
Instead of relying only on regular satellite signals, NetRTK uses real-time correction data from a network of ground reference stations via the internet. This allows the device to achieve centimeter-level positioning accuracy, enabling much more precise and stable operation outdoors.
In simple terms, it means: Your device knows exactly where it is—so it moves with higher precision, smoother paths, and better reliability, even in complex environments.
Does the mower have a rain sensor?
Yes, the mower is equipped with a rain sensor that can detect rainfall and automatically adjust its operation based on preset safety logic, such as pausing mowing and returning to the charging station to protect both the lawn and the device.
